Meet the Committee Perryton Rodeo Association

From 1998- 2005 the rodeo was under the Young Riders 4-H Club. In 2005, the rodeo had outgrown the 4-H club and parents and the Perryton Rodeo Association was formed. Perryton Rodeo Association (PRA) currently has 9 directors and 40 members and continues to grow. PRA is very family oriented with families working the rodeo and a few of the former Young Riders 4-H club now married and helping out with their young kids.
Perryton is excited to be one of 6 rodeos in the Super 6 Saddle Series this year. Along with Seiling, Waynoka, Freedom, Dumas and Cherokee. All of these rodeos are KPRA first approved rodeos.
The added money is $ 700 per event, $1,400 for team roping and $500 for 40/40 team roping.
The 2017 rodeo will feature mutton bustin and calf scramble for the kids and a video replay board for the rodeo. More added attractions are being planned.
Saturday night will be Tough Enough to Wear Pink. PRA started this program 4 years ago and have successfully raised money to help ensure women can get a mammogram at Ochiltree General Hospital or further testing if needed and insurance is not available.
This year the Perryton arena will host 2 junior rodeo associations, a high school rodeo and a college rodeo along with the KPRA rodeo in August.

Perryton Rodeo Association will host the 19th Annual Wheatheart Rodeo the 3rd weekend in August (Aug 18 & 19, 2017) at 7:30 and mutton bustin at 7:00.
This rodeo is held in conjunction with the Wheatheart Celebration Parade celebrating Perryton’s 98th birthday with a parade down main street Saturday morning followed by a BBQ at noon at the Expo.
