Blake Bowler is the reigning Utah Junior High School Rodeo’s team roping header.
The thirteen year old Enterprise, Utah cowboy competes in the team roping, tie-down roping, and ribbon roping.
For the heading, his horse is an eighteen year old gray named Gray who Blake started riding when he was eight years old. For the tie-down and ribbon roping, he rides an eleven year old mare named Dusty.
He is an eighth grade student at Enterprise High School where his favorite subjects are math and history. He loves learning about the wars throughout U.S. history, especially the Revolutionary War. He has a 4.0 grade point average, and enjoys reading, especially the Western Horseman Legends books.
His favorite food is steak, well-done, with mashed potatoes and gravy. His favorite dessert is vanilla ice cream, and his mom makes some delicious pancakes, topped with maple syrup.
Blake competed at state junior high school finals the last two years, and last year, went on to the National Junior High School Finals in Lebanon, Tenn., where he finished in the top ten in both the team roping and ribbon roping.
When he grows up, he’d like to be an accountant. His favorite pro rodeo cowboy is Clay O’Brien Cooper.
