FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and Rodeo Life Magazine Announce New Partnership

The Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and Rodeo Life Magazine are proud to announce a new partnership created to help honor, preserve, and share the stories of military rodeo.

Rooted in a shared respect for service, sacrifice, Western heritage, and the men and women who have carried both a military calling and a rodeo spirit, this partnership will bring greater visibility to a meaningful part of rodeo history that deserves to be remembered.

Rodeo Life Magazine is a family-led national rodeo and Western lifestyle publication built around faith, family, freedom, and a deep love for the people who keep the Western way of life alive. Through print, digital, photography, storytelling, and community connection, Rodeo Life is committed to honoring the cowboys, cowgirls, veterans, families, and traditions that continue to shape rodeo culture across generations.

The Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame was established to recognize those whose achievements, service, and contributions helped build and advance military rodeo. The organization honors individuals connected to the United States Armed Forces who competed in military rodeos, as well as those whose behind-the-scenes work helped strengthen, promote, and preserve the sport.

Its board is made up of leaders who have lived the history they are working to protect.

President Steve Wood is a retired United States Marine Corps veteran who competed in saddle bronc riding and bull riding. He has also served in the military rodeo as a promoter, stock contractor, team leader, and a founding figure in both the Military Rodeo Association and the Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Vice President Freddie Waltz is a retired United States Marine Corps veteran who served as a bullfighter, barrel man, and rodeo entertainer. His leadership and personality helped shape military rodeo culture, and he was also part of the founding work behind the Hall of Fame.

Secretary and Historian Wayne Boney is a retired United States Air Force veteran and five-time military rodeo world champion who competed in bareback riding, bull riding, calf roping, and team roping. His work in rodeo administration and historical preservation continues to help keep military rodeo’s records and stories alive.

Member At Large Steve Stollfus is a retired United States Marine Corps veteran who competed in bareback riding and bull riding. He won the 1991 Military Rodeo Cowboys Association Bareback Riding World Championship and later served on the MRCA Contestant Board of Directors.

Member At Large Troy Moseley is a United States Marine Corps veteran who competed in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding. He remains an important contributor to the historical record of military rodeo and is also a founding member of the World Senior Pro Bull Riders Association.

Member At Large Stan Schofield is a retired United States Army veteran who competed in bareback riding through the European Rodeo Cowboys Association. He later served in leadership roles as both Bareback Riding Director and President of the ERCA Board, as well as on several veterans’ organization boards.

Together, these men represent decades of military service, rodeo experience, leadership, and dedication to preserving a legacy that belongs not only to rodeo but to American history.

“This partnership matters deeply to us,” said Rick and Lori Bizzell of Rodeo Life Magazine. “Military rodeo carries a story of courage, grit, service, and Western heritage that should not be forgotten. We are honored to help bring those stories forward and stand beside the Military Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame as they continue honoring those who rode and served.”
