McKardy Kelly has a variety of interests.
She’s a contestant in the Utah Junior High School Rodeo Association, she loves to cook, raises and shows pigs, and is a rodeo queen.
The thirteen year old cowgirl, who lives in Midway, Utah, is a barrel racer, pole bender and ribbon roper.
She is also the reigning Miss Francis Frontier Days Rodeo Queen, having served as a princess for Frontier Days two years ago.
McKardy enjoys queening and has also won the Mountain Valley Stampede Rodeo Princess title in 2013 and the Summit County Little Buckaroo Rodeo Queen title in 2015.
She is an eighth grade student at Rocky Mountain Middle School, where the best part of the school day is when she gets to go home! But she still enjoys school, especially her math class, introduction to agriculture class, choir, and yearbook committee.
She loves to paddleboard, fish for crawdads, and hunt. The family often kayaks at Deer Lake, Jordanelle Reservoir, and Bear Lake.
She has spoiled her brothers, Tag, age eleven, and Cutter, age seven, with her homemade macaroni and cheese. They won’t eat Kraft anymore, because they prefer their sister’s! She also likes to make lasagna, grilled cheese sandwiches, cupcakes, and cake pops.
When she goes to college, she’d like to major in ag science or ag communications. She’d also like to be a member of the WPRA and continue to barrel race.
At state finals last summer, she finished in sixth place in the ribbon roping.
She is the daughter of Jason and Misty Kelly.
