“I feel we took a great step coming on board with Rodeo News. It’s going to help the committees, contestants, and sponsors,” said NMRA president, Sheldon Milton. “Rodeo News will help us get the word out there more.”
Sheldon has been a part of the NMRA as a judge for the past few years. “I’ve been around rodeo my whole life – my grandmother was the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association secretary for 20 years – Helen Dennis.” He competed when he was young, and switched to judging in 2014.
The 24 year old works in vendor management inventory – Copper State Nuts & Bolts. “I stock nuts and bolts in bins all across Albuquerque.” The job fits him perfectly as his time is flexible when it comes to rodeoing on the weekends. “I bleed rodeo and that’s my life,” he concludes. “We are taking steps to better rodeo in New Mexico. I want these open rodeos to see what we can do for them – and help them grow too.”
