Meet the Members Fayth & Jayda From

Fayth and Jayda From are true country music fans; their dad is making sure of that.
The sisters, both members of the Nebraska Junior High School Rodeo Association, love old country, like Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Chris LeDoux and George Strait. And when those old country songs float through the air on 95.5 the Twister radio station, they sing along! But they appreciate some of the newer country too, including Florida-Georgia Line and LoCash.
And when they’re not listening to country music, they’re competing in junior high rodeo, in the ribbon roping, the breakaway roping and the barrel racing. Both sisters are runners in the ribbon roping; Fayth runs for Carter Anderson and Jayda for Coy Johnston.
They share horses. For the barrel racing, Dolly, a bay, is grouchy, according to Fayth, but Jayda gets along with her. “I can deal with her,” she said. “We’re like best friends.” For the breakaway, they ride a buckskin named Goldie who is “really sweet,” Fayth said.
Fayth is an eighth grade student at Cody-Kilgore School in Cody, Neb. She loves social studies and art classes, and competes in volleyball, basketball, track, and is on the honor roll.

Fayth’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Burchfield, who is her current math teacher, because “she lets us do a lot of activities in math class,” Fayth said. Jayda’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Ford, the art teacher. Currently the art class is making mobiles with objects that show their favorite things. Jayda’s mobile will have a horse, a barrel, a pole, an arrow to represent following your dreams, a volleyball, and a little red pom pom for the Huskers.
Jayda, a seventh grader, loves math class and also plays the same sports as her sister. She is also on the honor roll.
Fayth’s favorite place to be is at home, in the arena, or playing outside with her sisters. Jayda loves to be at the rivers on their property, where the Snake River empties into the Niobrara River. The Froms are fortunate to live close to the Snake River Falls; Jayda loves to jump off the waterfall.
Fayth’s favorite food is a baked potato, with butter, sour cream and cheese; her favorite snack is chips and salsa, and her favorite vegetable is broccoli. Jayda’s favorite food is her mom’s tater tot casserole; her favorite snack is apples and peanut butter; her favorite pop is Mountain Dew, which the girls are allowed to have on weekends, and her favorite vegetable is carrots.
When Fayth grows up, she’d like to be a veterinarian or a physical therapist; Jayda wants to be a nurse.
Last year, the From family visited Tennessee when Teyha, the eldest, competed at the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo in Lebanon. They loved visiting the Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash museums, ate a wonderful supper at Margaritaville, and visited the Carrington Plantation and the Battle of Franklin historical sites.
The sisters competed at the state finals last year, and for Fayth, her sixth grade year as well. Two more sisters round out the From household: Tehya, who is 14, and Tacey, age ten.
The girls are the daughters of Tagg and Jayme From.
