On a special day in October of 1968, the Golden Gate Bridge begins to charge southbound cars a toll fee, the Olympics were in full swing in Mexico City and our dear PSRA member Sam Thomchak was born in Los Angeles, California.
At five years old, Sam moved to New Meadows, Idaho. Her family moved to Southeast, Idaho, when she turned seven and she has been in Idaho ever since. She has only left the state for a short period of time when she had to move to Los Alamos, New Mexico, due to a job. She has been married to her husband for 28 years and they currently have twelve four-legged fur babies (five dogs, three horses and four barn cats).
Sam started riding horses at the age of 14 when she joined the JR. Posse. She started breakaway roping in her thirty’s and never looked back. Sam loves the thrill of chasing fast calves and the high that comes when you catch one.
She joined the PSRA in 2021 when her dear friend, Danaye Eaton, invited her to go with her to a rodeo in Panguitch Utah, she fell in love with the association and the whole atmosphere of being around people who truly care and love what they do.
She stays away from fast food and pop and tries to eat as healthy as she can at all times, including the rodeo trail.
Happy Trails Rodeo Friends.
