Cody Kohler is a hard worker.
The Heber, Utah cowboy goes to school at Wasatch High School in Heber and turns around and puts in twenty to twenty-five hours a week at his job at RC Ornamental.
But Cody lives life at full speed.
As a member of the Utah High School Rodeo Association, he competes in the trap shooting and bull riding.
He’s been shooting trap since he was ten years old and riding bulls since he was 13.
He loves riding bulls especially, since it’s a challenge. “It’s my passion, really,” he said. “I love doing it. Every time I nod my head, it gets better.” He attended Gary Leffew’s bull riding schools and learned a lot. His dad has been a great help as well. He rode bulls in high school and after, and he gives advice to Cody. “Everything I’ve learned is from him. He’s a guy that I look up to. He helps me out.”
A senior in high school, Cody participates in FFA. He plans on attending college, getting a welding degree, and then continuing his education. He hopes to college rodeo as well.
For fun, Cody loves to snowmobile up Snake Creek. He’s just purchased a new mobile, a Polaris RMK 800. In the summer he likes to hunt and fish.
He has qualified for state finals every year since ninth grade in the trap shooting and, in the bull riding, went his sophomore year and will go again this spring.
He has an older sister, Kaitlee, who is 21, and a younger brother, Case, who is twelve.
He is the son of Jennifer Peatross and Reggie Kohler.
